Peanutcracker – The Story In A Nutshell (2023)

PEANUTCRACKER - THE STORY IN A NUTSHELL, is a shorter, 45-minute narrated version of The Nutcracker that is designed for families with younger children to introduce them to the wonderful world of ballet and the traditional holiday ballet, The Nutcracker. The shortened ballet with its glowing Christmas tree, the Rat King's battle scene, Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy, and animated narration have proven to be very popular with audiences of every age. This year's performance will feature Sierra Nevada Ballet's company of professional dancers and over 40 local children who will perform live on stage for this 'must-not-miss' holiday event.

Dracula

This Halloween, be seduced by DRACULA! Don’t miss this original full-length ballet directed and choreographed by award-winning artist Ananda Bena-Weber. Fans of horror and tango alike will love this classic story set to the thrilling and passionate music of Astor Piazzolla. Domingo Rubio (former principal dancer with The Joffrey Ballet, Ballet Hispanico, and Compania Nacional de Danza de Mexico) stars as the charismatic Count with a taste for death. Put on your favorite costume and prepare for a scare! Dracula is coming your way… He’s watching you.

Auditions: Peanutcracker

All male and female students must be enrolled in at least one ballet class per week.

Ages 3 – 6: 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM
Ages 6 – Adult: 1:45 PM – 3:15 PM
En Pointe: Pre-Professionals (age 12 and up with pointe experience) & Professionals: 3:15 PM – 5:00 PM
Performance dates are December 1st and 2nd at the Carson City Community Center and December 3rd and 4th at Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts in Reno.
