We are so fortunate to live in a time of ever-improving technology where we can attend meetings via Zoom, watch videos on our computers, and see streaming performances on our cell phones.  With these wonderful modern inventions, it is easy to forget the amazing interactive experience of a live performance. SNB elected to perform at Ranch San Rafael this year and (while the venue was very costly for us) we were happy to do it.

I have to marvel at the brilliance of Artown’s Executive Director, Beth MacMillan.   This summer is a very exciting time for Sierra Nevada Ballet.  After more than a year of presenting virtual performances, SNB will once again take to the live stage in Reno, Carson City and Lake Tahoe and bring some top star dancers to Nevada to perform for our community. In my 28-year professional ballet career I had the great honor of dancing leading roles in most of the famous classic ballets, and, while I loved all of them, nothing could compare with the experience of being a “mother”.  Having a family while being an active professional dancer is exhilarating yet challenging.
